Cool.
So what I'll do is I'll include kmod-input-polldev in all future gargoyle builds, so that in the future of people want to do this mod they just need to fix the gpio and setup the button handlers.

You did not describe how you fixed the gpio, i.e. transferring rfkill from gpio-13 to gpio-23.
I would not be able to do this even though I did read the corresponding openwrt wiki...
I modified the firmware so that step wasn't necessary. However I can't make that a permanent change because it will break other devices.

Ok, understand now. The argument with breakage of other devices was also brought up on openwrt, hence only a patch exists there. So this workaround applies to Archer C7 V2, Archer C5 V1.2 but not to all other TP-link devices.
Thanks a million again for your patience and support. The switch is working like a charme.
Hey guys, quick question, is this patch for the Wi-Fi switch going to be added to future releases for the Archer C7? Just realised this feature isn't working on 1.9.0
Yes in future releases.
It is in the development branch currently, but there are no releases containing it.

Yes, kmod-input-polldev is included in the most recent builds.
But you still need to do the other steps.
