Archer C7 V2 1.9.x was great now is misbehaving

Post by coupepete »

I have been running a Archer C7 V2 with 1.9.x for month or two and it has been extremely reliable and quite fast. Well done guys. In the last day it has started to appear as a connection for maybe 10 secs, then "disappears" from the connection list (wifi or cable). I don't believe any changes have been made. I can't seem to connect for any thing more than a couple of seconds. Power off - even for hours doesn't seem to make any difference.
I read on one thread that they have overheating issues and therefore are not stable, but cannot find any references elsewhere. It has been quite hot the last day or so.

Any thoughts on what I can do to trouble shoot ? or do I assume failed and get another ? Any advice appreciated.

It sounds like it is stuck in a boot loop due to corrupted time data.
As a test, disconnect it from the WAN (remove the internet). If it stops rebooting that is the answer.

I've discussed it many times. You should be able to find relevant instructions on the forum
