unable to setup a wireless bridge connection

Post by sagiema »

Hi,
my setup is as such:
main router - wrt120n, ip 192.168.1.2
secondary router - wrt54gl running gargoyle

and this is my config in the second router
Bridge IP: 192.168.1.106
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
AP/Gateway IP: 192.168.1.2
and the appropriate SSID and password to the wireless network .

my problem is that is seems that the second router doesn't even connect to the net work as i don't see it in the DHCP table on the main router.

any help will be most appreciated.

I have this configuration using WRT54GL second router and v1.3.5 firmware working without problems.

Not sure what the problem there might be.

What software are you running on the primary router and what versions?
Linksys WRT1900ACv2
Netgear WNDR3700v2
TP Link 1043ND v3
TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1
Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2
WRT54G-TM

There is a good chance that your problems are due to the Linksys firmware. Especially wireless security can be problematic. This is just one of the many reasons that folks switch to third party firmware.

You might try to disable all security and see if it will work for you then. You may be able to confirm that it is a security related issue.
