Archer c7 v2 - flashed to DD-WRT but will not take Gargoyle

Just picked up an Archer C7 v2 (US version). From the forum instructions for upgrade I downloaded..

factory-to-ddwrt-US.bin

Which worked great - I'm seeing DD-WRT (build 29519). Then from the torrent I tried to install

gargoyle_1.9.x-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v2-squashfs-factory.bin

DD-WRT says the upgrade was successful but when it reboots I am still on DD-WRT.

Is there a step I am missing?

After installing DD-WRT, you're no longer on factory. Thus, you've got the wrong gargoyle image. From DD-WRT, OpenWRT or an other Gargoyle install, you should use the sysupgrade image instead, not factory. But you've solved it anyway, so congrats
