I just flashed Gargoyle to my TP-Link WA830RE v2 Range Extender.
The flash seemed to take fine, but when I try to change any settings or reset the device, it goes back to the default password and First Boot.
First I flashed 1.8.1, and it had this problem. Then I tried flashing to 1.9.1, and it still won't remember settings, so I cannot put it into Wireless Bridge mode, which is what I require.
Defeated, I tried to flash back to stock with TP-Link's bin, but Gargoyle just hangs and never completes the flash.
I tried to telnet in and/or flash back to stock with TFTP, but I'm afraid I'm not savvy enough to do that. Nothing I've tried has worked.
Can anyone help? Please? It was an inexpensive device, but it's basically trash to me if I can't set it to Bridge mode.

Okay, just tried it again and it appears to be magically working now. Sorry. Will update if there's any more problems. Not sure how I fixed it.

And just as soon as I said it was working... the device stops and is no longer even serving me the Gargoyle GUI.

Okay, GUI is back up and running but it's not working in repeater mode and I can't flash back to stock. Just hangs at the "Upgrading, Please Wait" pop-up.

You'll need to reflash via TFTP or other similar failsafe method.
Be aware that your router has such low flash space that most newer Gargoyle versions are not likely to work correctly.

Yeah, I don't know. Like I said, I've followed all the TFTP guides I could find online and it's not getting a response from the server.
I'm 99% sure the device is in failsafe mode.
I mean, I'll keep trying but so far nothing is working.
*sigh*

+1 for giving 1.6.2 (or 1.6.2.2 from obsy) a try, if you manage to get the device back to work.
I have a WA850RE currently running LEDE and it's been working flawlessly. It's another alternative, if you don't mind setting things up through the command line (no GUI).
