Preparing to flash WRT1900AC

Post by apvm »

I have a Linksys WRT1900AC version 1 and I have downloaded the Mamba factory image from http://lantisproject.com/projects.html I read somewhere that wirless AC is not enable by default with this firmware but I could not find instructions on how to enable it via ssh. Also do I need to install the fan daemon for the fan to work as well? What would happen if I don't install the fan daemon? Thanks.

Please get the latest from http://lantisproject.com/gargoyle_ispyisail/
Any other images on my site are experimental. If you want the latest code (despite the risk of crashes) please pm me.

802.11ac is available to turn on in the GUI.

The fan daemon is not required, but does a better job of cooling the device than the default setup.

Thanks, I have downloaded gargoyle_1.9.x-mvebu-armada-xp-linksys-mamba-squashfs-factory from your link, I suppose that is for flashing from factory. BTW, is ssh available inside Gargoyle since I want to issue fw_setenw boot part 1 command for flashing future build. (I want to keep partition 1 always factory firmware) thanks.

Yes.

For all intents and purposes, it is a fully fledged openwrt installation
