Denied access log for whitelist?

Post by Statik »

Hi there. I have just setup my router with a whitelist restriction. I did it using only one rule, so far. The rule says to limit everyone, except two MACs (the parental laptops) to the whitelist. It seems to be working great. I'm still playing with it.

What I am wondering is, is there a log of pages that were requested and denied? Is that through the web usage monitor?

Thanks in advance!

I believe this stuff is done through IPTables and if it gets blocked,
the information is just discarded.

I think new code would have to be written to see the blocked pages.

Or I wonder if it is even possible.

I don't use IPTables / rules much myself, but I think if it does not
match the rules or it is not in the whitelist, then the packets get
dropped, i.e. all information is discarded.

Actually, if you look at the web access log you get the page requested, even if it was denied by the restrictions. Atleast, it worked that way until the log hit 300, then it crapped out and showed nothing. Still trying to get it cleaned out.
