Post by tjotabe »

Hi

I would appreciate your help on the following issue. I'm trying to use TP LIN WR1043N V3 as repeater for two netwoks (not at the same time).
I sucessfully installed the gargoyle 1.9.1 but I'm not able to identify what are the configurations (marked as >) in order to repeate them:

Device Configuration
Configure Device As:
>Wireless Bridge/Repeater

Wireless Bridge/Repeater

>Bridge IP: ?
>Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
>AP/Gateway IP: ?
>Wan Ethernet Port: Disable ?
>DNS Servers: Use gatewas as DNS Server ?

There's a how-to guide in the documentation:

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... nt_ap_mode

The only difference is that your repeater/bridge subnet MUST be OUTSIDE the AP subnet.

E.g.

AP Subnet 192.168.1.X
Bridge Subnet 192.168.2.X
TP-Link Archer C7 v2 - Gargoyle 1.12.X
TP-Link WR842ND v2 - Gargoyle 1.10.X
TP-Link RE450 AC v2 - Stock FW 1.0.4
TP-Link WA850RE v1.2 - LEDE 17.01.1

Hi,

How to make them to comunicate with each other?

Because I have my network with some computer connected to my internet router and I want to connect some other computer to the same lan, via wifi (I don't have a long enough cable), so I use gargoyle on my Archer C7. Installation work fine, all my network have access to internet, but the computer connected to my internet router can't connect to all computer connected to gargoyle...

How to make it work?

Thank you!

Looks like the reason is because you have them in a different subnet. Just put them under the same subnet and they will be able to talk to each other, i.e. you need to disable DHCP in your repeater.

PM me if you need to buy Gargoyle router in Australia/NZ, willing to pay me to help you on your Gargoyle configurations or build custom configured ROM with pre-installed app or try to fix your bricked router. Yes, I am looking for job/work.
