Hi all,
As from the may threads here on this subject, which is a real shame that it is not working as a small config mistake could give you hours of pain to recover your router.
Today I was trying to setup my router as a bridge client once I saved the settings it locked me out try as I may I could not login or the router was not working either after struggling for hours here is what I had to do to get back in.
1. Powered he router and as the DMZ led came on I pressed the reset button till the power & dmz leds were blinking.
2. I setup a computer with a static ip of 192.168.1.10 subnet 255.255.255.0 and gateway ip 192.168.1.1
3. logged into the router via telnet with ip 192.168.1.1 and ran the following without the quotes.
4. "mount_root; passwd" keyed in a new password twice
5. "nvram set"
6. "firstboot"
7. reboot or power cycle the router.
Once the router powered up I was able to login as 192.168.1.1.
Hope this helps someone else in the future.
