Hi everyone,
I like to know how to configure Adblock plugin to block all Google Video Ads.
I requested my ISP to provide my usage statistics and on it 16.7% was Google apps.
Lightbox Video streaming is about 42% was the highest offender. The next one down is Google Video ads at 16.7%. This is unwanted data consumption and I want to find a way to block this traffic.
Thanks with Regards,
Ed

Re: AdBlock plugin
Hi mate if you want to block a site you can add it to the black list.
/plugin_root/adblock/black.list
To find all the addresses google use for videos is going to be hard I think.

Re: AdBlock plugin
Hi tapper,
Thanks for your suggestion, I will be trying this soon
I should have mentioned "Block ALL sorts of ads e.g. "banner ads, pop-over ads, video ads etc" instead of Google video ads.
This can be achieved in DD-WRT and on Tomato. Please check the link below.

I am on 4G broadband with 120GB data cap. This is the maximum data cap available. There is no unlimited plan available on 4G broadband. Once 120GB is used I have to pay $20.00 for 15GB.
Blocking Video ads will help save some data/money so trying my best to block unwanted traffic.
I am on Gargoyle 19.1 firmware and have AdBlock add-on installed. I haven’t found a way to read the log file yet to check the performance of
adblock add-on. I am sure that adblock is working because I can see blocked areas on some web sites.
Some web sites mention about using hosts file. I am thinking to copy those host file and add it to black list.
Anyone has better ideas please?
Thanks Team

Re: AdBlock plugin
The adblock plugin is already operating as per those instructions from lifehacker (although in a more efficient way, less overhead).
The problem with some youtube and google video ads these days is that they are no longer being served from a different server.
This means that in order to block the ad, you would have to block the content server as well, which would obviously prevent you from watching the video you were after.
Router level filtering can't overcome this.
If you want to add additional items to the block list just use the GUI to add them to the "Black List".
Entries in the black list will be combined with the lists that get downloaded from the internet.
