I have been running Gargoyle firmware on a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 successfully for a while but an electrical storm put an end to that a couple of nights ago. I have loaded 1.1.1 onto an Asus WL-520GU and it appears to be working correctly apart from the air led being quite dim. I also don't know if the wireless is actually working as yet as my neighbour with whom I share the internet is away for a couple of days
Is there an easy fix for this my end, keeping in mind that I am basically ( 99% ) Linux illerate and an XP user, no problems using putty or winscp to have a play with nvram, etc. though.
Thanks for all the effort you have put into the firmware.
Cheers
Terry

Re: asus wl-520gu
Hi, I am looking at buying this as secondary since it's the cheapest of the working routers.
I found some specs and it looks decent,
have you tested the wireless since your post, does it work?
did you try the new firmware since your post and if so how is it?
also is there USB support with gargoyle?
even without that it will be nice to have with all the other features gargoyle now offers, let me know what you thought of this cheap router

Re: asus wl-520gu
I got the Buffalo working again before I had a chance to test the Asus radio.
One thing I did notice with the Asus was that there was an error with keeping the correct time, I forget the exact details, but the error was quite big, in excess of 10 minutes per hour. If you google wl-520gu time problem with alternate firmware, you will get more info.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Edit: And GarGoyle doesn't support USB.
