TP-Link TL-WA830RE v2 quota and restriction doesnt work

Post by supertommy »

Hello i m Tom from Italy

I just flashed my router with the latest release of gargoyle but the main feature that has led me to use your software does not work. There is no way to make it work quotas, the only thing that worked was to limit the total amount of bandwidth removing access to the Internet when specified amount was reached. My main goal was to REDUCE GLOBAL USE OF AVAILABLE BANDWIDTH, in other words I want those who connect to the router can not navigate past a certain speed (throttle bandwidth!), and I found no way to do that, even setting "When Exceeded -> throttle bandwidth "it seems to have no effect and does not understand why!

The other question is how can I have quotas working with wan set to disabled

(now i setted to pppoe connection and main router give me anoter ip but i dont want that)

Could you please share your settings with us so we can check what might be wrong?
A screenshot would be great, make sure you capture enough detail so we know exactly what you did.

You can't.

So your connection is
50Mbps download (6.25MBps)
And you're limiting it to 40Mbps (5MBps).

12Mbps upload (1.5MBps)
And you're limiting it to 24Mbps (3MBps)

Do you see what I'm trying to point out here?
Bits and bytes.
