Wireless set to g?

Post by gas77 »

Hello everyone,

New to the world of Gargoyle so please be gentle with me.

I have recently installed gargoyle 18.1 on a tp-link wr1043nd

The installation and setup went smooth but when checking the wireless settings something is puzzling me, it shows only at 11g

root@Gargoyle:/# uci show wireless
wireless.radio0=wifi-device
wireless.radio0.type=mac80211
wireless.radio0.hwmode=11g
wireless.radio0.path=platform/qca955x_wmac
wireless.radio0.txpower=28
wireless.radio0.htmode=HT40-
wireless.radio0.channel=11
wireless.ap_g=wifi-iface
wireless.ap_g.device=radio0
wireless.ap_g.mode=ap
wireless.ap_g.network=lan
wireless.ap_g.disassoc_low_ack=0
wireless.ap_g.ssid=Be nice to all :)
wireless.ap_g.encryption=psk2
wireless.ap_g.key=xxxxx

I did search the forums but according to what I have found if the htmode is set to HT40 I should get an 11ng

Can someone have a look at th above for me and give me any suggestion.

Thank you.
TP-Link TL-WR1043ND on gargoyle 18.1

HWMODE only has 2 (3) allowed settings: 11g (and 11b, rarely used), 11a.

11g is the base protocol. We activate n speeds with HTMODE settings.
Allowed settings are:
HT20
HT40+
HT40-

Similarly for 5ghz, 11a is the base and n/AC speeds are activated using the allowed HTMODEs:
HT20
HT40+
HT40-
VHT20
VHT40
VHT80

Depending on the capability of your device.

In short, your config is fine.
