OpenVPN without client cert/key

Is it possible to configure OpenVPN to work without a client cert and client key? I am trying to configure my vpn (vpn.ac) and i always get an error if i leave either of those blank. I'm trying to follow instructions here: https://vpn.ac/knowledgebase/43/OpenVPN ... outer.html

I am able to connect to the vpn from a terminal manually.
