Can't create Restrictions

Hi there,

I am using Gargoyle and can't create Restrictions.
The Router is running since years now, and I am quite happy with that.
Now I wanted to create Restriction Rules, to stop Popups and block all unwanted Websites instead of doing that with my Browser Addons.

Here is my system Specs :

The problem is, when I create a new rule, and click on Edit
I get a popup window which is missin all options. Instead I get an error message showing me :

TypeError
sb.getString is not a function

in Firefox, other Browsers don't show any message, but also not let me see and modify the options.

I tried all diffrent Browsers (FF,Chrome,Edge) but it is not working.
What is the Problem ?

Should I update Gargoyle to a newer version ?
How can I do that without losing my settings and plugins ?
Which version would be suitible then ?

Upgrade to 1.8.1, and then install the Gargoyle Adblock plugin.
That will make your life easier than all these rules.

Thx Lantis, can I restore my settings in 1.8.1 from 1.6.0 ?

What might be the problem why I can't edit rules anyway ? I ask because i prefer to not touch running systems, and being able to edit rules might be easier and way less risky to solve my problem.

If I have to upgrade I will need to buy a new router to not risk making a mistake and losing all my network settings by killing my actual router.

you would have to set it up again from scratch. 1.6.0 and 1.8.1 are not compatible config wise.

i'm not exactly sure where to begin with your restrictions i haven't played with that version in a long time.

In firefox, is it blocking a popup from the router which is the editing window?

The details are all blocked in all Browsers.
I only get an error message in Firefox, the other browsers just don't show it.

that error is to do with Download Manager Tweaker...

This is Microsoft Edge, it will show the advanced options for a fraction of a second and then it looks like this.

No matter what Browser I use, my Edge has not a single addon or whatsoever, I always have the same problem.

Please press F12 before loading the page so that the developer console is open and see if an error is reported

It's not showing any error message.

Weird, if I copy the url and paste it into a new tab, I can edit the rules now (but can't close and apply changes). It seems to be only not working as a pop up. I wonder why

Have you tried using the default theme just to make sure that isn't broken?
