Quotas not working

Post by wshuttes »

HI

I have a TL-WR1043ND (Gorgoyle 1.9) connected to a Dreytek Vigor 2600 plus DSL Router.

Internet access is working. TP Link DHCP is enable and Connection settings are
Connect VIA: Disabled
WAN ethernet port: Bridge to lan

However quotas aren't working.
Have set DHCP Range 10.0.0.150-200
Have assigned static IP to a test PC: 10.0.0.102
Firewall quotas:
Max download: 0mb
Max Upload: 0mb
max up+down: 0mb

However I'm still able to connect to internet.

is it the fact that I am using a draytek router as the modem instead of a dedicated modem.

No it's because you set "connect via: disabled"

Can we get more details about your connection from your isp so we can advise the best connection method?

DHCP wired will work, with an Ethernet cable between the modem and the WAN port of the gargoyle. Make sure that the subnets between the modem and the gargoyle are different.

If your connection authenticates over PPPoE and your modem can be put into bridge mode that is another good option.

Hi

I just wanted to say thank you for your quick response and help.

It made sense and I worked it out in no time.

set up the draytek router to bridge mode and the TL-WR1043ND to PPOE.

Cheers
