Installation on GL.iNet 6416A

Hello,

I bought a GL.iNet 6416 router with 16MB flash and I found the image
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download ... actory.bin

But this image is only 8MB big. Therefore I assume this is for the GL.iNet 6408 only.

At OpenWrt both sizes are available:

How can I install Gargoyle on the GL.iNet 6416A router?

This will work OK for you.

But 1.9.0 would be a better choice IMO. Post to this thread if you would like to try 1.9.0

Is it always true that a smaler image can be used on a bigger flash?
You answered like this. I assume in that case the rest of the flash will be unsused but it works.

So far as I know the remaining flash is available to install plugins etc

I tried the revision 1.8.1 8MB factory image on my 16MB device now and you are right. It works and the whole memory is available.
