qos slower speed

Post by chrismallia »

I I flashed Gargoyle on a Tp Link wr740 v4 just to try out Gargoyle before buying a better router like a archer c7, I found gargoyle great love the bandwidth monitoring and the stability I am coming from ddwrt, any way the question is here I gave a 100mbps down 4mbps up internet and with no qos I got 94 down and 4 up (did not get full 100 as this router is not gig and very cheep) with qos enables I get about 54 and in congestion control I get Link limit: 66722 (kbps). Could this less speed be cos of the routers limitations?

More than likely because the CPU is so slow.
The archer is 1.8x faster, so you still may not reach your full speed, but it will perform better.
We can't guess exactly what it will achieve though.

Is there a powerful router dual core that supports gargoyle? this is a great firmware would be a pity not to install on a powerful router, or what router can handle qos in high speed internet?
