power cycle cable modem (anything)

Has anyone tried this?

Using the "ping watchdog". connecting a PowerSwitch Tail (via usb on router) to a cable modem so when the router reboots it will power cycle the modem too...

Seems alot better (and easier) than doing it with scripts...

That's quite clever.
It's essentially just a USB controlled relay.
