Connecting to Verizon HomeFusion router
I am setting up my Gargoyle router (TL-WR1043ND) and have it connected to my Verizon HomeFusion router (TG790). I followed the basic network configuration suggestions: Device=Gateway/Connect Via=DHCP/Wireless Mode=AP/etc. The only thing different that I did is I enabled Wireless Client Isolation. This setup is not working and I'm not sure where to find in the forum a topic for connecting to another router that is used to bring the internet into the home from an antenna that picks up Verizon's 4G-LTE service (this is the best option for internet I've been able to find so far for my location … which is the reason for the Gargoyle … to manage data usage within a 30GB cap).
The Gargoyle is wired to the TG790 and I plan to turn off the Wi-Fi off on the TG790 once I get the Gargoyle to work. Please help by either pointing me to where this topic is answered in the forum or by offering suggestions.

Re: Connecting to Verizon HomeFusion router
Thanks for the suggestion. When I tried to change the IP address to 192.168.0.1 on my HomeFusion router, I got an input error message saying the address is illegal.

So what is the default IP address of your HomeFusion router?muralwork wrote:When I tried to change the IP address to 192.168.0.1 on my HomeFusion router, I got an input error message saying the address is illegal.

192.168.1.254So what is the default IP address of your HomeFusion router?
Re: Connecting to Verizon HomeFusion router
OK, so leave the TG790 with the default 192.168.1.254 and connect a cable from the TG790 LAN port to the TL-WR1043ND WAN port.
Then configure gargoyle:
Gargoyle - Connection - Basic - Internet/WAN
Connect via: Static IP (wired)
Static IP: 192.168.1.253
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.254
Gargoyle - Connection Basic - Local Network / LAN
Router IP: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gargoyle - Connection DHCP - DHCP
tick LAN DHCP Server Enabled
DHCP Range
Start 192.168.0.100
End 192.168.0.200
Lease time 2hrs
Then configure gargoyle:

End 192.168.0.200

Re: Connecting to Verizon HomeFusion router
moreover I suggest to find the DMZ Host option in the TG790
and set it toward the WR1043ND WAN IP
(in your case 192.168.1.253)
this will help you to set up port forwarding just once in Gargoyle instead in both the routers

Sounds perfect … I'll do both of these later today and let you know the results … thanks so much!moreover I suggest to find the DMZ Host option in the TG790

Re: Connecting to Verizon HomeFusion router
Your suggestions worked to make a good connection between the two routers but it interfered with my internet connection. The reason for this is that the TG790 is Coax connected to a Verizon antenna that is only able to work with a DHCP connection. The IP address for the antenna is 192.168.1.3 … is there any way to connect the TL-WR1043ND via DHCP?
Re: Connecting to Verizon HomeFusion router
So there is something a little weird now. I clearly do not understand your situation.
Could you please provide a network diagram showing the all devices, the physical connections between devices, the ports that the wires are connected into (ie LAN or WAN), and the IP address of each port.
Also, where did you discover that the IP address of the antenna is 192.168.1.3 and what is the make/model of the antenna?
