Bring back DIR-615 C1 for Chaos Calmer Please

It's listed here in the Chaos Calmer directory:

I found a post on this forum claiming the C1 was "minefield", but on the OpenWRT page, it says "Full support, eth/wireless/leds/buttons ok".

I've been using 1.6.2 for about a year now, and I'm generally very happy with it, except for a very random reboot once a month or so. But Gargoyle is so far the best firmware I've ever used so far.

The device only has 4MB of flash so it is on the tail end of support

I was able to apply the mod, but firmware-mod-kit always re-packed the firmware improperly (Some minor gzip difference which causes a kernel panic), so I was never able to use it with 1.6.2. What it does is allow you to use up to 21dBm instead of just 19dBm.

We had a discussion about this some time ago on the forums and I believe the answer was no. But, I'll bring it up again.

If it doesn't get through, it's actually very easy to add yourself!

It's my understanding that the only reason the patch is needed is that OpenWRT(-alike) builds ignore the fact that there are other countries than USA and prevent users from using settings perfectly legal for their countries just by hard-coding US settings in the builds and DISABLING configuration of other countries.

If the developers/builders won't be ignorant and ENABLE user configuration of the region (thus also the associated channels, transmit powers, etc.) in their builds, problem would be solved.
And that's all the non-US rest of the world is asking for... it's not that much... unlike the developers "wisely" telling everybody to build their own build
It's time to wake up and realize that majority of the people on this planet are NOT developers and can't build their own builds...

On a device with such small flash space, doing a build is likely the best option.

Ah he he, this is quite a contentious subject

Nevermind then, I thought this would let me raise it to 21dBm. DD-WRT allowed this on the DIR-615, but Gargoyle only allows it to 19 IIRC. That little bit did make a substantial difference in the signal strength.
