DHCP

Post by babbomaria »

Hi i'm very pleased with this new firmware. I switched from DD-WRT.

Now i use gargoyle with fonera 2100
firmware version is 1.2.1
Device Configuration is Gateway
Memory Usage is 12.5MB / 13.4MB (93.3%)
I have another wireless router (D-link) with ip 192.168.1.1 /255.255.255.0 that has dhcp enabled from 2 to 33.

fonera has ip 192.168.1.41/ 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.1.1 as gateway

I have DHCP enabled
LAN DHCP Server Enabled checked.
start 100
end 120
lease time 12h

I have problem because :

1) fonera show 192.168.1.41 anyway dlink show that fonera connected on the lan port is asking for ip adress and router lease 192.168.1.2 (or one in the range 2-33).
Anyway fonera obviously don't use it I can reach web interface on 41 .

2)when i connect on wireless fonera I expect an ip in range 100-200 anyway a obtain an ip in range 2-33.

You can't setup multiple DHCP servers like that.

You would have to have the Fon in a different range

like issue IP's in the 192.168.2.xxx range

If you wanted it in the 192.168.1.xxx range, you'd have to mess
around with Netmask

just turn off the DHCP on the Fon and let it get IP's from the d-link

As for the #1 issue, yes, it depends on what side of the router you
are trying to access the web gui.

If you're on the d-link router side, 192.168.1.2 will access the
fon gui, but if you are on the fon side, 192.168.1.41 would be
how you access the fon gui.
