Plugins/Themes/Languages Don't Install

Post by Volaris »

I'm having an odd problem with this router. I've tried two Gargoyle firmwares - 1.6.2 and 1.7.1 and both have the same behavior.

Any theme I install from the plug-ins page doesn't work. It'll install and get listed in the Themes page, but once I select it, it'll look like the following for any theme:

The original Gargoyle theme works fine. I've tried others, too.

Another example, when I tried installing the Adblock plugin, the plugins page says it's installed but all I get is the following webpage when I click the Adblock page under Firewall (yes, I moved the adblock.js file as told). I reviewed the system log and it shows no mention of it getting installed?

I've tried other plugins, themes, and languages. They just fail to install. They'll either get "installed" but the page for them is dead, or it'll just refresh the plugins page and refuse to install them. I just tried installing Tor, and it gets listed under Connection, but once I click on it it'll just redirect me to the router overview page. Checking the Systemlog shows no mention whatsoever of any installation happening.

Router is a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2. Any idea what could be causing this?
QoS Tip: Don't complicate your QoS settings. Gargoyle evenly splits available bandwidth between active devices as needed. Just delete all your classification rules and leave only one normal service class and you're done. No more arguing over bandwidth.

I'd recommend a firstboot to reset everything. Sounds like something has gone very wrong.
TOR won't install properly at the moment because of a dependency issue so ignore that one for now.

Thanks! A firstboot fixed it.

Do you recommend doing a firstboot after every upgrade? It may have been because this router was recently flashed from DDWRT.

Nah not after every upgrade. But if things start behaving weirdly and you can't find a reasonable explanation it's usually not a bad idea :).
