no response after "waiting for requests"

So I have everything working (I've had this setup and working in the past) I open the log viewer and see its waiting for requests.. I turn on the viewsat, change channels, and normally at this point there is activity in the log viewer .. it's as if the serial cable isn't hooked to the router. . I've tried 3 different receivers. Any suggestions? (Besides a new xfta router)..
Can I use my pc with a serial to USB cable instead of the gargoyle router?
Of course my first choice is to have the router working

Hi you need to give us some more info, what router build of fermwair what you are trying to do and stuf like that.
