Hi, when I connect the Seagate Backup Plus Desktop 3TB drive to my TL-1043nd running Gargoyle 1.5.10, the USB lights keeps flashing every two seconds and I can feel the vibrations in the drive telling me that data it is being accessed.
This happens even when nothing is shared over SMB. Only unmounting the disk stops this activity.
Everything works fine with when I connect my WD passport 1TB, even when sharing over SMB, with a swap file on the WD and transmission running (but not downloading / seeding, of course). No unwanted USB access, and the disk goes to sleep after a few minutes of remaining idle.
But as soon as I connect the Seagate, I get this unwanted disk access, leading to the disk never going to sleep, and heating up as a result as well.
This is pretty irritating given that I just got the Seagate from the US and can't afford to return / replace it. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks.

I've also tried setting the manual sleep timing via Seagate Dashboard to 3 minutes, as well as disabling the manual sleep override. No effect. Sleep will only be triggered after x minutes of idleness, which never happens because the harddisk is actually constantly been accessed.
Run out of ideas, looking for help.

Seems I'm the only one on the planet with this issue. Very disappointed

Hey Mohammad! This is just to say that I came across your post looking for an answer to this same issue. Unfortunately no solution yet, either

I know this is an old thread but if mohammadmansur is still watching, try to upgrade to a newer release of the firmware:
1.7.2 is here: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download.php
and the latest release 1.7.x based on 1.7.2 is here: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... =14&t=7317
I have the latest Gargoyle 1.7.X (Built 20150718) installed with a 3TB drive connected to D-Link DIR-835 Rev. A1.

Just testing to see functionality and watching for anomalies.
