I'm brand-new to Gargoyle/OpenWRT, and would like to enable SNMP, so that I can view the status with software like PRTG.
Could this be added to the GUI?
Presuming that will take a while if it happens, can you provide guidance in enabling it manually?

You should be able to follow that and install via the command line.
Make sure you have an 8MB or larger flash
Also should have 32MB or larger of Ram
OpenWRT/Gargoyle have grown so much that
8MB Flash & 32MB Ram are now minimums for a router.
