TL-WDR3600 + MF821D

Post by ssuche »

Hi, using firmware version 1.7.1 the usb dongle MF821D (4G, provider 3 Italia) doesn't run.
The same router, with a Huawey E1962 runs...
Any suggestion?
If I attach the Huawey I see in the status overview the strenght of3G signal, with the MF821D nothig appears.

Thanks!

Hi I don't use a USB modem but have you tried both USB ports?
Which build did you flash the one from the front-page or one of ispyisail
's?

I flashed the
gargoyle_1.7.1-ar71xx-generic-tl-wdr3600-v1-squashfs-factory.bin
It doesn't run in each the usb ports.

Reading http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=3g
I've tryed to do this from the shell:

opkg update (success)
opkg install picocom (not success)

and the error is:

ERROR: No package named picocom found, try updating your package lists

-----

after this I tried to send:
picocom -b 115200 /dev/ttyUSB2

but, logically, it doesn't run...

-ash: picocom: not found

Any Ideas?

The firmware is ok with the huawuei dongle, but if I use ZTE MF821D the router doesn't see it in both the USB ports

I assume that you have verified that the modem works on another device?

maybe the WDR3600 has a similar issue??

I don't think so, first because with the Huawey dongle, the router use the 3G, second because other forum users works with TL-WDR3600 and usb dongle.

I think is a problem of configuration, but I'm not Australian so I can't read:

Bingo

Thanks a lot!!! I don't know if is there a problem with the provider but the connection isn't very stable.

If the connection is lost, the system will reconnect or is necessary to reboot the modem?
