WRT300N compatability.

Post by swinters »

It the WRT300N fully compatible with Gargoyle? I do not see it discussed anywhere in the forums, but there is a gargoyle_1.2.1-wrt300n_v1-squashfs.bin image in the download section. Thanks.

WRT300N v1.0 Q87-WRT300N (V1) Broadcom4704@264 32 4 Broadcom b/g/n - 1 yes 4 LAN/ 1 WAN 12V/1A

WRT300N v1.1 Q87-WRT300NV11 Broadcom4785@300 32 8 Broadcom b/g/n - 1 yes 4 LAN/ 1 WAN 12V/1A

WRT300N v2.0 ? IXP422@266 16 4 atheros b/g/n ? 1 ? 4 LAN/ 1 WAN 12V/1A

-----------------

You need to be sure which one you are flashing and definitely verify the version # of the WRT300N

Looks like V1.0 is the only supported

V1.1 is a different chipset - and from doing some reading @ DD-WRT, it has to be flashed a certain way

V2 looks like an Intel/Atheros combo based device

So make sure you ONLY try that firmware image on a V1.0 WRT300N

As always - you're taking a risk flashing 3rd party firmware.
No one is ever going to tell you, yes, go flash, it'll work 100%.
