TL-WR741ND v2.4 as repeater losing connectivity to the base

Post by monq »

My TL-WR741ND v2.4 running Gargoyle 1.4.7 is acting as a repeater of another router. From time to time, the network interface that is acting as a client somehow "loses" the connection, its "Tx excessive retries" number starts to rise, and that's the end.

Nothing in "logread". I don't know how to debug this. I have tried changing the channel, setting 11g, 11ng, HT40-, HT40+, HT20, NOHT, a thousand things, nothing works.

How can I fix that or at least detect that the connection has been lost so I can issue a "wifi" command for it to reconnect or something?

Try a newer version. Or try ping wochdog set it to ping the ip of your bridge. wen no pings come back then it will restart the interface.

Thank you tapper for your suggestions. I cannot use a more recent version because there are several unresolved issues.

Can you please tell me more about that "ping wochdog"? Thanks.

PingWatchdog is available as a plugin since late 2013.
