no internet access on my N600

Hi I have just installed gargoyle 1.7 on my WDR3600 and it works perfectly on login and I have set up the LAN as per instructions. though I changed the ip to .1.12 I can connect to wireless no problems. The internet light flashes if I open safari but no internet access I have a NB9WMAX as my modem and the wireless is turned off there.
This is going to be a controlled internet access for homestay students i.e. bandwidth/QOS and usage limits. I have a Timecapsule with a hidden network for our personal usage. But that is turned off for set up of this modem so the N600 is the only connected device to the modem.

I think your subnet might be wrong?

your modem/router is 192.168.1.x

make gargoyle say 192.168.10.x

not enough information to be sure
