Gargoyle-ispy 2014-December-13.7z has not TP-Link WR 740/741? I will test it.

Re: Barrier Breaker Progress
Eh... maybe stupido, and I did not read the complete forum so don't blame me for my question (maybe only for not reading the complete forum)...
But... I've installed the new barrier breaker last week on my 1043 and it runs sweet (as a WDS repeater). Does this also enable the possibility to install the openwrt packages? Or should I be careful to install them?

Re: Barrier Breaker Progress
EDIT: "Firstboot" reset fixed the problem
Don't use "preserve setting" upgrade
Device Name:Gargoyle
Gargoyle Version:1.7.X (Built 20141217-0454 git@abde007)
Model:TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1
still problems with dual band wireless

Re: Barrier Breaker Progress
Is the Wireless problem only on WDR3600 or is it on all Dual Band Routers?
I wanna try it on Archer C7, ordering it next week.
Or do you have an other Router that is better then this?
Thank you!

Re: Barrier Breaker Progress
Flashed a TP-LINK TL-WDR4300 v1.0 to Gargoyle-ispy 2014-December-17 followed by failsafe mode and using firstboot to ensure no invalid/old settings data is present and causing issues.
Like OpenWRT Barrier Breaking 14.07 wireless is sometimes unresponsive using 20MHz, WPA2 PSK and various channels. OpenWRT Barrier Breaking 14.07 with some mobiles would loose ability to connect to AP after a while claiming poor signal, have yet to have that appear with Gargoyle-ispy 2014-December-17.
The signal claims are rubbish as I have tested inSSIDer Wi‑Spy Mini and older OpenWRT/Gargoyle builds do not have this issue.
I hope OpenWRT Chaos Calmer is less issue prone release with switch issues and wireless issues largely resolved.
I would strongly advise if you do get a TL-WDR3600 or TL-WDR4300 that after flashing to Gargoyle you trigger failsafe mode and use firstboot to ensure no invalid/old settings data is present and causing issues.

The TP-LINK's tend to have more issues than the compatible WNDR3700's/WNDR3800.omiez wrote:Is the Wireless problem only on WDR3600 or is it on all Dual Band Routers?

I'm a bit confusedLike OpenWRT Barrier Breaking 14.07 wireless is sometimes unresponsive using 20MHz, WPA2 PSK and various channels. Is the current build giving you problems or not?

Re: Barrier Breaker Progress
there's a problem with the build process from git and no one seams to care
before you say anything I already tried single threaded build

Code: Select all

Re: Barrier Breaker Progress
Looks like the sluggish wireless was a one off thing, I don't have wireless on my main PC and mobiles/tablets are far from ideal clients to troubleshoot with.ispyisail wrote:I'm a bit confusedLike OpenWRT Barrier Breaking 14.07 wireless is sometimes unresponsive using 20MHz, WPA2 PSK and various channels.
