Hi all,
Sorry, I just cannot figure completely out, what is the best / most correct way to setup hidemyass to work with my router :
Device Name:Gargoyle
Gargoyle Version:1.6.2
Model:TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v2
Device Configuration:Gateway
Memory Usage:16.2MB / 60.2MB (26.9%)
I looked at http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=openvpn but it's not completely clear to me exactly what to do.
Here's my current setting:
Notice here that I logged into the router with SSH as root and created the file: pass.txt as you can see under the auth-user-pass setting...
I don't know about TLS-Auth Key - I have no idea what it means. Also TLS-Auth Direction - I know nothing about it.
I prefer if I can enable/disable openvpn through the webinterface. Now I also found a startup-script on hidemyass homepage, but it seems like it's a script that gets start at boot time. I would prefer not to boot my router, when I want to connect through VPN.
I would also prefer not to be required to login with SSH to the router, to run a script, if I want to be connected to VPN.
I hope somebody can help me here with the best strategy/solution (and this is my first post so I hope nobody comes shouting at me, if I posted in the wrong place - I tried to find an appropriate group and tried to read about this, but couldn't come any closer to a soluation). Thanks.

There some posts on this topic
From my understanding you can't add a openvpn username and password using the GUI.
That is the usual problem with gargoyle and these kind of services

Thanks a lot ispyisail.... I see... But if I login with SSH it should be possible to save the username and password in a text file and then somehow make openvpn read that text file and pass that information whenever needed?ispyisail wrote:There some posts on this topic

Is my assumption correct? Is it possible to make it work with hidemyass? Anyone tried and could share their experience(s)? I would be grateful...
Re: OpenVPN client with hidemyass
There is a thread on this forum about exactly what you suggest
Re: OpenVPN client with hidemyass
Ok, thanks... I now works with the text file user/pass - it was simple enough. However, I still cannot make it work with hidemyass...
Have tried a lot lately... Looks like it connects and everything seems fine, but I cannot go to any webpages - except if I enter the IP-address directly but then things are really really slow - maybe DNS-issue...
hmm....

Re: OpenVPN client with hidemyass
There is a known DNS issue
Try manually entering a DNS address on your client PC
