Hi folks,
More research on my part. Looks like dual-band options are available and I may just be misunderstanding how the available configuration options work.
Can both radios (2.4ghz and 5ghz) be used when the router is configured in Wireless Bridge/Repeater mode? Or, do I have to choose only one of them for both the bridge and AP functions, leaving the other radio unused?
Ideally, I'd like to use the 5ghz radio for the bridge (and as AP if possible) and use the 2.4ghz radio as AP-only.
So far, it looks like if I want to use the router as a bridge/repeater, I have to pick one or the other of the two radios.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi all,
In short, my installation doesn't appear to be showing me any dual-band options in the interface. Wondering if I've missed something. Would somebody be able to point me to how to enable dual-band?
Have installed 1.6.1 on d-link dir-825 b1 dual band router. I am using it for a wireless bridge/repeater.
When I configure the repeater, it will use either the 2.4ghz or the 5ghz radio depending on which SSID I select to join when I scan, so it appears it uses both radios as it sees other 2.4ghs and 5ghz networks when it gives me a list to select from.
The repeater works as expected except I only get one radio once the config is complete. If I selected the 2.4ghz SSID from the "SSID to Join" pull down, only the 2.4ghz radio is enabled afterward
conversely, if I selected the 5.ghz SSID from the "SSID to Join" pull-down, only the 5ghz radio is enabled afterward.
My intent was to use the 5ghz radio to provide the bridge to the existing 5ghz wifi network and have clients connect to the lan ports and 2.4ghz radio on the gargoyle box, but so far I have found nothing in the interface to allow me to configure both radios.
I've done some searching and found some posts talking about editing some files like /etc/config/wireless, but the issues described didn't seem to be the same as what I am looking at.
Would anybody be able to point me to how to get this unit to show any dual-band options offered? Have I missed something or done something wrong in the install?
Source for basic.sh page in my browser does show
var dualBandWireless=true;"
but I see no options to configure the 5ghz radio right now (I have the bridge currently configured on the 2.4ghz radio) and only the 2.4ghz radio indicator is lit up/active on the front panel of the router.
thanks very much for any help!

Re: updated - dual band on dir825b1?
I am confused as well when comes to these dual-band things...If I recall correctly, in AP mode it offers settup for both 2.4/5.0Ghz radio however, when selected REPEATER mode, it shows one radio.
What more confused me is...after I put the Gargoyle to my MR3220, everything is fine however, I 'seemed' see both radio working
- Using a PC connect to the MR3220 (now with Gargoyle), it is clear that it uses 2.4....at the same time
- Using my cell phone, purposely set it for 5Ghz only, I see signal (only one...use to be many in 2.4Ghz mode) from my MR3220. Connect it and test with the PC connection currently with 'SPEED TEST" site
Wow amazing....it seemed they both 2.4 AND 5Ghz are working concurrently...
Is this real ? or am I missing something here, or so lucky with Garoyle on my MR3220 ??????
