anyone using 1.6 with linksys e3000?

Post by rjwill »

I'd like to upgrade my router firmware and I was wondering if anyone is using Gargoyle with a linksys e3000, and if so what image they are using.

Thanks.

I am sorry mate 1.6 will not work with the e3000. so dont even tri or you will end up with a brick. support for the e3000 is not even bin added to openwrt. there is a slim chance that it mite work in openwrt trunk. but 1.6 is bast on the AA branch of openwrt. For more about openwrt and witch branch is what see here

For e3000 on trunk of openwrt see here

Yeah, I just bricked my E-3000 trying to put gargoyle on it. Latest openwrt was ok. Now I gotta buy that stupid special screwdriver and special cable and see why tftp didn't unbrick it! :-(

Which download exactly did you get to work on the E-3000 and what steps did you take to install it?

Hi sorry about your brick!

only openwrt will work on the e3000 the file you need is called openwrt-e3000_v1-squashfs.bin

Remember that openwrt trunk doesn't come with a web interface you will have to install luci after flashing.
good luck!
