no gateway IP - who to enter the router?

Post by klerik »

Dear all,
last weekend I successfully flashed my Linksys WRT64GL with Gargoyle 1.5.7. First, everthing went well. Than I started to change settings to use the router as a repeater.
I gave the router the IP: 192.168.1.50 which is out of the range of the access point. DHCP off. -> save settings and the device was no longer accessible.
I tryed to reset the router by pressing the reset button = no result.
I tryed to use wireshark as in another post it is explained. No success.

May somebody help me out, please?

Kindly klerik

Use failsafe to reset the device.
Search for Openwrt failsafe and follow the instructions.

Or manually set IP address on your computer and then you should be able to connect to the router. The reason you can't get in is because the router is not providing your computer IP address, right?

HI eric,
no my computer IP was set on 192.168.1.2 manually as it show in the attached image.
But I will try failsafe. Just now I am leaving for holidays and will try it when I come back.
Let's hope and see.
