HP OfficeJet Pro L7780

Post by Shirley »

Installed my new router today. Was excited to use the new features. I was able to set limits on uploads and downloads per user and I could even see which device, my Mom's caretaker's android, was using up so much of my precious bandwidth, having Hughesnet as my only internet option.

Well, when I was satisfied with all of the settings and had checked proper operation of my laptop, phone, and ipad, I went into the other room to see how my printers were faring. My one HP eprinter worked great but to my shock the workhorse printer, my HP OfficeJet Pro L7780 just froze when I went to the setup menu and ran the wireless wizard. It froze and the entire control panel became unusable. I powered cycled it multiple times by unplugging it, as the on/off no longer worked. The only thing that cleared it up was to turn off the Gargoyle router. Control panel began working again, immediately. So, back to my old router for now.

Well, do you think it's too late for me to return this thing?
I really want the benefits of figuring out where my data usage is going but not if it means the loss of my printer functionality.
What an aggravating waste of time.

Your problems sounds to be your printer's fault rather than Gargoyle's. Try to configure your printer to connect to Gargoyle using method other than your wizard which could be the cause of the problem. I am assuming you are using WIFI to connect to your printer and not ethernet.
