WDS bridge with some old devices. Possible?

Post by varma »

Hi everybody!

I'm a happy user of Gargoyle on my TL-WR1043ND since I bought this router (so thank you everybody - you deserve it everytime I ask for help!! :D )

I use it as my daily router in AP mode.
I own a WDTV Mediaplayer with a 150N dongle attached but I would like to connect it to te AP in full 300N with the hardware I already own.

I have:
1x Router Pirelli A226M with BCM6358KFBG SoC with OpenWRT 12.09 installed on
1x USB dongle TL-WN821N v3 Chipset: Atheros AR9002U-2NG (AR7010+AR9287) that is not supported by the WDTV

is it possible to use them together to realize a WDS client bridge, having a new node to attach all my LAN based media devices?
or it has to be a whole Atheros platform inside the client-router to work as I desire?

(otherwise I could buy a wr841n for little money, but without fun!)

thank you very much
