Quotas not sticking

Post by AVC »

Hi all! first post here!
Well, what a week! Our new housemate managed to blow our 200GB limit in 10 days, and now we've been shaped to 256K. Add to that our performace hit from our crappy ADSL and it's like the good old days, or more accurately, the BAD old days of dial up.

Gargoyle to the rescue! It just so happened that our router (well one of them) is WRT54G 1.1

Initially, I successfully installed version 1.2.5 which worked fine and I set up a quota which displayed in the "active quotas" until I navigated from that page and navigated back. From then on, any attempt to add a quota would not display in the active quotas.

Then I gave version 1.4.7 a go. With the WRT on the network. Bad idea. Bricked it. Well, got it unbricked by doing the "short out the flash chip" and then installed 1.0.16 on it.

Same problem though, setting up a quota still doesn't show in active quotas.

Is there an ideal version of Gargoyle for this model of router?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

edit: sorry, posted in wrong area, just notice there's a whole forum for quotas and QoS!

Hmm, just tried 1.3.9 and got quota working for one time, navigated to a different section of the setup and went back and the quota was not there, and wouldn't accept a new one
