Belkin "BoB" + TPLink Gargoyle

Post by GarageMan »

Hi.
I have a Belkin "BoB" modem/router and a TPLink Gargoyle router. Also have 2 laptops to help configure this.

I'd like to:
a/ keep using BoB (for VoiP and wireless access for some of our home devices such as iPads)
b/ use Gargoyle at the other end of the house to provide wireless access to other devices.
c/ Connect BoB and Gargoyle wirelessly (I can't run ethernet that far).

When set up with ethernet between BoB and Gargoyle:
- laptop A is connected via WiFi to BoB and I can ping with it and Gargoyle.
- laptop B is connected via WiFi to Gargoyle and I can ping with it and BoB.

However, when the ethernet cable is removed between BoB and Gargoyle I cannot ping from either end despite enabling the wireless connection between BoB and Gargoyle (performed a scan under SSID to Join in Gargoyle. It found BoB, I entered the access details and I thought this would be fine).

Any advice will be appreciated. Cheers.
