Which router for 500Mbps connection

Hello

I am currently using a WNDR3800 and I have been very happy with this router until recently. I was using it with a 150/10 connection.
Now I upgraded the connection to 500/50, and it seems like the WNDR3800 is limited to somewhere close to 160Mbps on the WAN port.

So I am looking for a new gargoyle compatible router which can handle at least 500Mbps, preferably more so i don't need to replace it again in one or two years.
I already had a look on the WAN-to-Lan Chart on smallnetbuilder.com which you can find here: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/router-charts/
All of the top models are pretty new and don't seem to be supported by open-wrt.

What i primarily care about is obviously the WAN throughput. Otherwise I am perfectly fine with the hardware of the WNDR3800.

Does anyone of you have a router that fits my needs or could you recommend one?

For that kind of speed, you may need a commercial router or consider
using an x86 based machine. I don't think router manufacturers
consider that type of speed for the home user as most Doc-sis 3.0
modems usually only hit around 150 MBPS max for capability.

I would agree that the WDNR3800 is pretty much the top end available in the consumer router market that can run Gargoyle. I notice on the chart you referenced its throughput is listed at 335Mbps even though you measured only 150Mbps.

How did you measure this through put (150Mbps)? It seems rather low to me for that router.

If you want to run Gargoyle at those speeds your are going to have to run it on an x86 computer.

Not much sympathy here as I soldier on with my 1Mbps link.
