how to block skype

Post by adino »

hi,

i have to do:

enable only one Website (Port 80, 443), all other should be blocked.

so in -> Firewall -> Restrictions i have set:

-> Access Restrictions:
Rule Applies To: All Hosts
Shedule: all day, every day
Restricted Resources: All Network Access

-> Exeptions:
Exeption applies to: All Hosts
Shedule: all day, every day
Restricted Resources: All Network Access

-> New Rule:
Website URL: Permit Only:
Domains contains: Domain.xy

And really - all is ok. only my Domain.xy is allowed - no other websites, no Whatsapp, no Mail, BUT - Skype is connected, hmm

is there a way, to solve this Problem?

Thank you, Adino

Your rule only blocks DNS searches for domains so there are many things that your users can do besides access Skype.

Change your rule to:
-> New Rule:
Remote IPs: Permit Only:
Then add one by one the web site IP addresses that are allowed.

Skype and other applications will be blocked then.
