WDR4300 - cannot log in via web UI

Post by HomeBrewAdmin »

Hi,

I purchased a new TP-LINK WDR4300 because it seemed like the most well endowed router for a reasonable price and because it is supported by Gargoyle.

I plan to set up quotas so that my children cannot gobble up all of our monthly Internet allocation :-)

Flashed successfully by shortening filename from gargoyle_1.5.10-ar71xx-generic-tl-wdr4300-v1-squashfs-factory.bin to gargoyle_1.5.10-ar71xx-generic-tl-wdr4300-v1.bin to prevent TP-Link flash util complaining.

Waited a little while then connected to 192.168.1.1 over ethernet using Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7. I was greeted with the login page so I tapped in the standard password "password" and.... was greeted by the login page again.

A little disappointed, I logged into 192.168.1.1 via SSH using putty. Entering root as the user I then entered a password of "password" and was pleased to arrive at the command prompt.

Now my linux is rusty (I write software under windows using Java and .NET!) so I'm not sure where to go from here.

Any advice to help me login via the web interface would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Andrew.

Hi,

It was IE9. I downloaded Chrome and it worked fine.

Now I need to figure out how to make Gargoyle play nicely with my grotty Technolour/Thomson TG587 ADSL router modem. Any info on this anwhere?

Thanks,

Andrew.
