Would it be at all possible to implement IPV6 over PPPoE and possibly on the LAN side into Gargoyle?
My internet service provider is planning on offering IPV6 over PPPoE in a few months time and i would like to try it out. I have heard that apparently OpenWRT supports this (WAN side) but im not sure whether thats true or not.
I would use OpenWRT but i like being able to have quota allocations and only Gargoyle does this. DD-WRT also supports IPV6 on the LAN side and 6to4 tunneling.
I think IPV6 would be a great addition to Gargoyle and it would ready the firmware for the future.
What do other people think?

Re: IPV6 Over PPPoE
IPv6 is hard. Really, really, really hard. It means completely re-writing the entire bandwidth monitoring, QoS, and firewall capabilities, among other things. In fact, it means overhauling just about everything. Sufficiently few people are using IPv6 right now that I can't justify the effort this would require, at least not yet.
I won't say never, but this is a rather low priority for the moment. If everyone starts migrating to IPv6 (as people have been claiming will happen "in about 5 years" for the past decade), that may change.

Re: IPV6 Over PPPoE
IP6 is running on the backbones sucessfully for a few years now, it's just the "frontbones" to the users being so variable is the problem. Else everything would be ip6 and ip4 would be basically admin and background tasks only.
Re: IPV6 Over PPPoE
Hello,
Sorry to bring this topic back to life but I need some help. The biggest romanian isp has started on October the tests on the full IPv6 roll-out . Since I'm a novice in the manual configuration of the Gargoyle, until now I use only the standard configuration, I need some help configuring IPV6 on Gargoyle. Internet connection is pppoe, ip addresses (both IPv4 and native IPv6) are allocated automatically and in addition the provider allocates an extra /64 IPv6 dynamic prefix via DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation to be used for the LAN network behind the router.
