Connected host not visible

Post by Tracey »

Hi,

I have recently bought a router from Gargoyle and am trying to set it up. I am testing the settings with my laptop. I can connect through the router and access the internet. If I check connected hosts in the status window my laptop appears under "Connected Wireless Hosts" and and the mac address appears. but if I then go to the Connection page and DHCP to assign a static IP the "Select Hostname/MAC From Currently Connected Hosts " is grayed out and the laptop is not visible.

I have refreshed the browser, restarted the laptop, restarted the modem. The router is configured as an AP.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

You may be doing nothing wrong.

I have a Mac Mini that either:

• openwrt thinks has a 01 MAC prefix
• the Mini sends out a 01 MAC prefix

I think its called ClientID. And thusfar, I have been unable to make that single computer have a hostname in the underlying OpenWrt config files.
