info on setup for ftp on tplink

any one here can give me some info on how to setup ftp on tplink with gargoyle 1.5.9 router is TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v1
ie what file sys to format usb in and how to access form the internet as well as local pc on router i tyred with filezilla and it worked but files where empty just some pointer plz in case i am doing some is a miss there thanks
