My apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere - my searches have turned up little.
Backstory:
I'm using my TP-link router in my motorhome as a gateway. Setting it to connect to a specific SSID through DHCP (wireless) works flawlessly. I have a second router hardwired to the TP link that acts as a simple AP to provide better signal isolation (keeps the TP-link from having to act as both a client and AP on the same radio).
This setup works flawlessly when I connect to any open access point THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A LOG-ON PAGE. At home, or when visiting family, I can connect even connect to WPA-protected networks.
Problem:
Tonight, I'm at campground that provides free, open access. However, the router will not pull an IP. When I log onto the AP using my phone or computer (directly), I get a "to use our free internet, accept terms by clicking here" page.
I've not encountered this with my motorhome before, so I really don't know how to circumvent the issue.
What I don't understand is why the Gargoyle status page does not show an IP address for the WAN. You'd think the campsite AP would have to assign an IP before any browser would be able to redirect to a log-on page, no?
Things tried:
By default, I set up the connection as a GATEWAY to provide isolation. I've determined the gateway and DNS IP for the campground (using an app on my android while connected directly). I tried manually entering their DNS servers, both with static and dhcp wireless connection profiles in the Connection GUI Gargoyle page, but no go.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
