wireless configuration problem

Post by dokuro »

hello, i flashed from openwrt, and i configured gargoyle as in the documentation but the wireless is not shoing (i can't conect)

so i ssh to openwrt and read my /etc/config/wireless file and see nothing wrong

config 'wifi-device' 'wlan0'
option 'type' 'mac80211'
option 'channel' '5'

config 'wifi-iface' 'cfg2'
option 'device' 'wlan0'
option 'mode' 'ap'
option 'network' 'lan'
option 'ssid' 'gargoyle'
option 'encryption' 'none'

or is there, because i have rebooted the router (wrt54g) and i still can't conect any wireless devise to it

Currently Gargoyle supports only broadcom and atheros wireless devices.

so can i flash from gargoyle to dd-wrt, how can i check if i have a broad, atheros or mac devise from outside because from the version (4) i thought i had the regular... (broad)

should i re-flash to an older openwrt?, can i go back to the linksys one i had?, is any of this posible by simply using the flash utility in gargoyle?

i can's spend mutch time lately working on this, and i miss my wifi...
so thanks for the help :)

What router model and hardware version do you have?

You have a Linksys WRT54G ? is that right?

That should be a broadcom unit and be supported by Gargoyle.

You may have to do a couple reset to defaults.

Goto the System Tab in the Gargoyle GUI, and then goto
the Backup/Restore option sub-menu choice.

Hit the button marked: Restore Default Configuration Now

Do that, reboot, do it a 2nd time to be sure, reboot,
then try and re-configure everything.

When Gargoyle is first loaded, wireless is disabled by default.
You have to manually set it up the first time.
