I have a Netgear 3800 running Gargoyle 1.5.1
Trying to upgrade to 1.5.9 but no matter what computer or browser I use I get the Wait whilst upgrading message.
But nothing happens.
I'm trying to load the factory *.img file but just noticed on the upgrade page it says:
"Firmware should be a sysupgrade.bin file"
So which one should I use?

Re: Can't upgrade Firmware
You are trying to use the wrong file I think...
This is the one you should be using:
gargoyle_1.5.9-ar71xx-generic-wndr3800-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
the downloads with "factory" in the filename are meant for routers
that have the stock factory firmware
If you have OpenWRT or Gargoyle already on your router
you use the files with "sysupgrade" in the filename

2x Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH V1 A0D0 = Gargoyle 1.9.x / LEDE 17.01.x
2x Engenius - ESR900 Stock 1.4.0 / OpenWRT Trunk 49400

Re: Can't upgrade Firmware
Thanks but I still managed to stuff up
I installed the 3800 firmware onto a 3700v2, I'm such an idiot!
Any way back from this or should I factory reset and start again?
Thanks for all the help

Re: Can't upgrade Firmware
Update:
The router seems to work OK
Perhaps the firmware is the same on both models?
Or should I try again with the correct firmware?
On another matter:
I'm trying to set up the 3700 as an Access Point only, the modem I've set to allocate IP addresses 10.1.1.2 to 10.1.1.99.
I'd like to set the 3700 as fixed 10.1.1.100, is this necessary?
And do I connect the 3700 to the modem Lan to Lan, or connect the modem to WAN port of the 3700 if it's an access point?
Cheers

Re: Can't upgrade Firmware
Maybe you can check the default save location update.

Re: Can't upgrade Firmware
This happened to me today too. I tried to upgrade 6 times before it finally worked. Has ssh access up until it did. I have a switch with transmit lights in front of me - the firmware wasn't sent on those 6 times & wasn't in /tmp/up/
