Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
I have successfully flashed my TP-Link MR 3420 (3G/WAN) router with Gargoyle Firmware version 1.5.2
For more info the router one may refer to http://www.tp-link.in/products/details/ ... R3420#spec
and http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3420
But it has a little problem, when I reboot from web interface it didn't restart the internet connectivity which can be fixed by switching ON/OFF the power switch of the router power supply

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
I upgraded a FONERA 2100 from 'DD-WRT V24 RC-6' to
Atheros 231x/5312 1.5.6
'openwrt-atheros-2.6-vmlinux.lzma'
'openwrt-atheros-2.6-root.squashfs'
using 'FonFlash.exe'
I tried to do a GUI upgrade with DD-WRT but that failed so looked into other methods and found Gargoyle
Just remember to give the router time to adjust and set itself up.
Now working great where DD-WRT Fon 2100 had developed drop out connection problems with my SAgem router. I use as a bridge from a network switch with my XBOX and Sky Box to provide a wireless link.

Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N - works with Gargoyle 1.5.7 now!
Replaceable antennas on this model!
Compile your own and you can set your own RegDomain!
Signal and speed of this router is amazing.
NO USB though - So NO TOR!

Flashed yesterday on a TP-Link WR841NDv7. I'm coming from DD-WRT and I don't think i'm going back anytime soon. It's amazing how easy it is to setup QoS on this firmware! And QoS REALLY works here. Great job Gargoyle team!
Re: WZR-HP-G300NH2 A1A0
After bricking my new WZR-HP-G300NH2 A1A0 router with 1.5.6 a couple months ago, I recovered it using the TFTP back to the factory .enc then loaded 1.5.7 (tftp version) successfully. Red Diagnostic LED does stay lit, but Gargoyle works fine. Using QoS and quota's. Been up for a day. If there is any trouble discovered, I'll post to the 1.5.7 News thread.
Great work! Been using Gargoyle to manage traffic at an RV campe for a couple of years. Thank you Gargoyle team!

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
Flashed one of my two Netgear WNDR3700v1's with 1.5.8 a few nights ago.
I'm going to do the other tonight.
Main reason to switch (from DD-WRT) is to get a router-to-router VPN working. Judging by the Documentation this is very easy using Gargoyle's implementation of OpenVPN.

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
Now I've flashed my other WNDR3700 as well.
Router-to-router VPN works great.
BUT
I can't setup a PPTP VPN from a machine behind the router that is the OpenVPN client in the router-to-router VPN. Or if the OpenVPN client has connected but subsequently disabled. It only works if the OpenVPN client has never been started.
I'll post a query on this in another sub-forum too.

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
Final result on a WZR-HP-G300NH2 was good, though I did brick it initially. I am extremely happy with it!
Please note that I ordered a WZR-HP-G300NH from newegg because it is in the list of supported routers but they sent me a WZR-HP-G300NH2 which is not on the list but I did get it to work using this experimental firmware:
