Password is Invalid! Didn't set any and "password" dont work

Post by Tribes11 »

Hello, I have a big problem right now.

I can't access my router configuration anymore, because i've flashed Gargoyle and logged in with default password: password, but when the FIRSTboot screen appeared (the one you choose your new password) I had a energy peak/interruption that rebooted the router and the PC..

So I''ve entered the router 192.168.1.1 again and it asked for the PASSWORD, I've entered "password" again as the password and it says it's invalid, but I didn't typed anything on the firstboot screen... And just now I've found that the RESET button don't WORK at all... And I can't reset the router and I don't know what's the password in it, cause it's not the default "password"...

What can I do now to fix this? My router is working I can access the WEBGUI, the firmware update was successful but I can't configure the router since I can't log in... Help me please!

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.failsafe

It can happen to anyone - the config got corrupted

Get into failsafe mode and you can wipe/reset the router

Thanks I did this before your post...

However I did differently, I've rebooted the router and awaited for sys led to blink and immediately pressed qss button and sys led started blinking fast and I was able to telnet to the router and I typed the firstboot, hit enter it cleared the settings and then it worked flawlessly!

Thanks for the help...

And sorry I was typing this post from smartphone...
